Dogs are mammals and can live up to 20 years. With many different breed of dogs, each looking and behaving differently it is important that you choose the one that suits you best.
What are dogs like ?
Dogs usually like to have other dogs or human around. they bark to communicate as well as to get your attention. Being fast learners, dogs can be trained to do many things. From fetching a ball to helping guide the blind.Dogs need exercise and lots of attention, without these it may fall sick easily and even die.
What type of dog should I get ?
If you do not have much room in your house, never get a big dog like a Golden Retriever or a German Shepherd. These big dogs require more exercise than smaller dogs and need more space to run around.

- Grooming equipment for long hair (comb, brush ...)

- Muzzle (for some dogs)
- Lots of time and love
Puppies require 3 to 4 meals a day while older dogs need only be fed 1 to 2 times a day. Bathing your dog once a week is good enough as their skin and coat may become too dry if bathed too often.
You should also walk your dog 1 to 3 times a day. Always keeping it leash. You may also need to pick up your dog shit during the walk so always bring along a small bag.
Never leave your dog outside in hot weather or rain as it will fall sick.
What do dogs eat ?Many people thought dogs only eat meat, but do you know that dogs also eat grains, fruits and vegetable too? Luckily prepared dog food bought from shops usually contain all the nutrients your dog needs. Dogs will eat more if given the chance, hence never give it too much food or it will become fat.
Should I let my dog breed?
Never! Puppies may be cute but there are already too many dogs around and not enough owner. We should not add to this problem by breeding our dogs. Dogs also experience stress when it breed. Neutering and spaying your dogs prevent them form breeding as well as make them healthier.
